While the dinner should not be exclusively large every night, you can prepare nourishing food.
Eat at right time: Prepare a heavy dinner and eat around 8 pm. You will be finished eating the dinner by maximum 8.30 pm. This leaves a full stomach, avoiding any midnight cravings. Do not eat beyond 8 pm as it aids to indigestion and stomach related problems.
Eat a fruit: If at all you cannot control late night snacking, eat some fruit. This way, you will be eating something healthy, thus, completely ruling out the junk food. Do not binge eat the fruits and stick to eating a minimum quantity.
Drink water: The best cure to hunger pangs is drinking water. Post your meal, you can drink lots of water, which will make your tummy full. This will avoid any cravings at night. But don’t drink too much water as it will lead to frequent bathroom visits, making it tough for you to sleep peacefully at night. A glass of water is enough to satiate your hunger.
Brush your teeth: How many times have you been told to brush your teeth before going to bed? Now put this strategy in use because brushing your teeth before bedtime not only keeps the cavities away but also helps in dealing with midnight snacking. Once you have brushed your teeth, you are least likely to eat anything. An added bonus of this strategy is that toothpaste tends to make foods taste bad and sap your desire for late night snacks.
Read a book: This is not an off beat thing to do. But a successful strategy in curing your midnight hunger pangs. You can read a book, which will help you get some sleep. Reading a book will divert your mind towards the content in it. Also, reading a book in bed is the fastest way to sleep quickly. Once you are asleep, there are no chances of waking up and snacking.

June 4, 2020 5:32 amWe try to finish dinner by 8:00. This gives us time before going to bed. I never go for very light dinner ad it makes me feel hungry later. Instead we try not to make it very late for having dinner.
Brushing teeth immediately after dinner works. Sometimes after brushing if I am offered a chocolate then I don’t eat it because I don’t want to brush again..:-)
