The coronavirus has not only taken thousands of lives worldwide but has crippled the entire functioning of the world. The healthcare system, education and business are collapsing.
In India, the virus is spreading like a wildfire, requiring a strict lockdown. While the lockdown has given us ample of time to spend with our family and take up our hobbies, it has brought a devastating effect on the daily wagers.
The daily wagers, who had been surviving on a hand to mouth existence, have been left starving. With nowhere to go and no support, we have taken it upon ourselves to step in with the #FeedTheHungry campaign.
Founded back in 2008, we, the Jani’s have been running the Reliable Charitable Trust, the operations of which, are handled by the Jani family and friends.
The Reliable Charitable Trust covers support in terms of education, medical and caring for the elderly But as the coronavirus pandemic has been growing by leaps and bounds, the livelihood of the daily wagers have been at stake.
Our trust has now extended towards helping the daily wagers get their daily meals. Our 100% not for profit initiative #FeedTheHungry campaign targets solely to provide food aid to the daily wagers of Mumbai’s western suburbs who are stranded without food and shelter in this lockdown.
3,000 single daily meals are provided to 1,000 daily wagers as of now since the lockdown.
With the generous help of people, we aim to target 10,000 single daily meals during the times of the lockdown. We have been lucky that this initiative is in association and support from Mumbai Police, without whom we wouldn’t have been able to reach the staggering numbers.
We, a team of 60 people, are ensuring responsible distribution of these kits by adhering to the guidelines strictly. We would like you’ll to join hands with us in our humble initiative and donate towards the survival of mankind during these pressing times.
We have 100% transparency on all donation proceedings. We provide daily and weekly updates on our blog and social media pages. So donate generously in this difficult times.
